Ode to Halo

It does hold a special place in my heart and I will always have love for it. I think about it less these days, but from time to time there are things that remind me of it. If it ever reaches out, I’m always happy reconnecting and catching up, but I know it’s not quite right for me long term. It served its purpose at the right time in my life and taught me valuable lessons that only it could.

I laughed with halo. Cried. Loved. And screamed at halo. Through the ups and the downs, I knew one thing. I was living life fully. No one can ever take that away from me, us. We had sleepovers in my parents’ basement. No one had any idea what was happening. Two young pups in love. Nothing could stop that passion. Sweat connected us. Warm embrace molded us. Gosh, I remember rubbing those joysticks raw. We explored new worlds together, reached new highs (super-bouncing), and confronted new online teenagers who would aggressively insult my mother. Though times have changed, there are some things that stay the same.

I will never forget my Halo memories.
